How Tour Atlas started and TourTek Solutions became a suite of tour tech tools.

We’re Alex and Greg, and we’ve never been great at accepting “that’s just how it’s done.”

In 2018, we launched Tour Atlas to modernise how travel advisors find, compare and share tour itineraries. Travel advisors were wasting time with outdated methods that hadn’t changed in over 30 years.

Looking through brochures, searching dozens of supplier websites, then copying, pasting and reformatting itineraries wasn’t keeping up. Clients are used to fast, efficient travel platforms, and that’s changed what they expect from their travel advisor.

The next step: TravelCMS

When a leading agency asked for a tour search engine on their website, we built TravelCMS — a white-label tour search engine designed for travel agencies with inbuilt marketing tools.

It gives agencies the capability to promote their favourite brands and itineraries without the back-and-forth with external developers every time you want to add or update tour content.

Scaling distribution: Tour Tek REST API

As demand grew, larger travel groups needed a single, structured way to bring tour content into their own systems.

That’s why we introduced the Tour Tek REST API - a single-feed REST API that helps teams avoid the complexity of integrating multiple supplier APIs formatted in different ways.

Why the name changed

Tour Atlas was our first product — and our original business name.

As we added TravelCMS and the Tour Tek REST API, we realised we’d outgrown a single-product name. The work had expanded from one platform into a broader mission: helping travel businesses distribute and sell tour product through multiple channels.

That’s what prompted the change to TourTek Solutions — our business name for the past two years.
